William Day brings a wealth of leadership and operational expertise to Hanover Linemarking Services. In 2023, William relocated to New Zealand with his family and took ownership of the business, driven by a passion for building a reliable, customer-focused service that delivers high-quality, long-lasting line marking solutions.

Before joining Hanover, William served as IT Director for Five Guys Europe, where he led the technology strategy and infrastructure across more than 200 restaurant locations. His experience managing large-scale operations, implementing efficient systems, and maintaining high standards of compliance and performance now supports Hanover Linemarking’s commitment to professionalism and quality.

As Owner & Managing Director, William is proud to lead a dedicated team delivering trusted linemarking services to commercial, industrial, and public sector clients across New Zealand — with a strong focus on safety, precision, and customer satisfaction.

Lance Thompson is an accomplished operations and business leader with more than 15 years of experience across construction, commercial fit-out, and infrastructure services. As General Manager of Hanover Linemarking Services, Lance oversees all aspects of business performance — from strategic planning and client relationships to operational delivery and team leadership.

Renowned for his strategic approach and hands-on leadership style, Lance brings a strong focus on quality, safety, and efficiency to every project. His ability to design and implement streamlined systems has consistently improved productivity and client satisfaction across multiple sectors.



Before joining Hanover, Lance successfully owned and directed a commercial fit-out and construction company, where he led business development, project delivery, and operations management for large-scale commercial clients. His earlier experience in logistics and transport management further strengthened his expertise in coordination, stakeholder engagement, and service excellence.

Driven by integrity, commitment, and continuous improvement, Lance is passionate about developing people, enhancing operational performance, and delivering exceptional outcomes for clients nationwide.

As Operations Manager of Hanover Linemarking Services — and the man whose name the company proudly carries — Matt Hanover personifies the values of quality, reliability, and craftsmanship that the business is built on. With decades of experience in linemarking and civil services, Matt brings unmatched technical knowledge, leadership, and attention to detail to every project.

Having worked his way from the ground up, Matt understands every facet of the trade, from surface preparation and application to large-scale project coordination. His dedication to doing the job right the first time has earned the trust of clients across New Zealand and cemented Hanover’s reputation for precision and professionalism.

Today, Matt oversees daily operations with a hands-on approach and a continued commitment to excellence. He also takes pride in seeing the next generation step forward, with his son now part of the Hanover Linemarking Services team — carrying on the family’s dedication to quality workmanship and trusted service.
