Specialists in B-type Road Marking
Precision where it matters most — crisp, compliant markings for crossings, junctions, bus stops and other high‑risk zones.
Why B‑Type Matters
- Safety first — Clear markings at crossings and junctions prevent confusion and improve safety.
- High visibility — Crisp edges and reflective performance ensure day/night legibility.
- Low tolerance for error — Precision marking from experienced crews.
- Fast, low‑disruption works — Night or off‑peak scheduling keeps your site moving.

Materials & Standards
We select materials that meet NZTA/MOTSAM specifications for high‑visibility markings which ensure longevity, reflectivity and adhesion.
What’s the difference between A-Type and B-Type line marking?
In short, A-Type covers long-run linear markings (e.g., centre-lines, long edge lines) while B-Type is designed for short-run, high-impact areas — such as pedestrian crossings, junctions, bus stops and other localized zones. B-Type demands sharper edges, higher visibility and stricter placement accuracy.
How long will B-Type line markings last?
Lifespan depends on several factors: traffic volume (especially turning vehicles or buses), surface condition, material chosen and exposure to weather. We use high-durability materials and schedule refresh programmes to ensure performance. We’ll advise expected service-life during our site review.
Can the work be done during live traffic?
Yes — our crews specialise in off-peak, night or weekend works to minimise disruption. We prepare a traffic-management plan and coordinate with pedestrian flows, ensuring safe, efficient installation while the site remains operational.
What preparation is required before you start?
Key steps: surface must be clean, dry and sound; any scheduled resurfacing should be complete before marking; traffic management and pedestrian protection must be in place. We’ll coordinate with you to check the condition and scope during our site survey.
Do you meet New Zealand standards?
Absolutely. We use materials and application methods that meet or exceed national standards (including those set by Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency for short-run markings) and ensure workmanship is accountable, with final inspection and documentation available on request.
What are the cost factors for B-Type marking?
The cost is influenced by project size (area of marking), complexity (junction vs straightforward line), traffic-management requirements (night vs day), surface condition, and material choice. We provide clear quotes following our site survey and breakdown of cost components.
What maintenance should we plan for?
Even the highest quality B-Type markings will experience wear, especially in bus zones, turning lanes or heavily pedestrianised areas. We recommend periodic inspections (typically annually), and scheduled refreshes or repairs, which we can include in your maintenance plan.
